Due to the professional and family commitments of our members, we normally have a few vacancies (especially for string players) during each season. In keeping with our generally informal approach to things, there is no formal audition process (new members are invited to attend a general rehearsal) although players are expected to be of Grade 8+ (or equivalent) standard and able to attend at least 5 (out of 6) rehearsals prior to each concert. We rehearse on Sundays at Moorfields Eye Hospital, City Road, London, EC1, and generally have six rehearsals for each concert (between 3 and 4 concerts per season). A typical rehearsal schedule will include some all-day and some 6-9pm rehearsals. Players are expected to contribute a small subscription for each concert (currently £20).
